Now Is A Good Time To Invest, 70% Of Respondents Reveal

An investor sentiment poll conducted by the Property Investment Professionals of Australia (PIPA) has revealed a remarkable 70 percent of respondents believe now is a good time to invest in the Australian property market.

The annual sentiment survey is up some five percentage points from last year. So why such strong confidence?

Despite 32 percent of respondents noting recent changes to lenders investment policies as a factor that has affected their ability to secure finance, some 58 percent are nonetheless looking to buy property in the next 6-12 months.

In regards to negative gearing, 72 percent of investors are not worried about the potential removal of the scheme, whilst just 2 percent sighted the concessions as a key attraction of real estate investment.

These results indicate that property investors remain positive and are focused on the long-term benefits of property investment, namely the potential for capital growth as well as rental income.
